International star Datuk Fan Bingbing will continue her role as Malacca’s tourism ambassador and has expressed her interest in learning Malay songs from music legend Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza.
She made the statement during a group interview with Malaysian media, where she shared her plans to return to Malacca before New Year’s Day to film promotional content for Visit Malaysia Year 2026.

Fan said that while the detailed itinerary has yet to be finalised, the local authorities are currently arranging her schedule.
Wants to sing in Malay with Siti
Fan said she was deeply impressed after watching Siti Nurhaliza perform at the Visit Malaysia Year 2026 launch event held last night.
She described the show as vibrant and memorable, with multicultural performances, fireworks, and drone displays that showcased Malaysia’s rich heritage.

She also took a photo with Siti and said she felt excited to speak with her.
Her voice is beautiful, and her presence is very strong. I hope I’ll have the chance to learn some simple Malay songs from her,” she reportedly said.
Fan also mentioned that she had spoken some Malay in the movie The Mother of Earth, showing her interest in the language.
Fan loves her connection with Malacca
Returning to the city after a year, Fan said it felt like fate and that she now has a deeper emotional connection with Malacca.

She believes the city’s beauty and culture can attract more tourists from China and across Asia.
Doing meaningful projects in such a lovely place helps people discover what makes Malacca special,” she added.
She hopes visitors will enjoy the food, culture, and warm hospitality, and then share their experiences with others.
When asked about possible new murals, Fan said she wasn’t sure but added that if there are new ones, they might Cfeature different artistic styles.
Believes in Malaysia’s creative talents
Fan said she has also met several Malaysian directors recently and praised their creativity.
She was especially impressed by the younger filmmakers and said Malaysia has many talented people in its film industry.
She also said Malacca would be a great setting for movie productions due to its scenic and cultural backdrop.
