Running a business takes guts. But some risks are bigger than others.
One vendor in Selangor recently found out how dangerous that decision could be when he was knocked down by a motorcyclist at a traffic light junction after crossing the road to sell pickled mangoes.
Incident unfolds on dashcam
The entire episode was captured by a dashcam and later shared on Threads by TV host and news anchor Fadzly Fuad.

In the footage, the vendor can be seen attempting to cross a busy intersection just as the traffic light turned green and cars began moving.
That’s when things took a sudden and dangerous turn. A motorcyclist, who apparently didn’t notice the vendor in time, crashed right into him. Both the rider and the vendor were thrown to the ground.
Despite the impact, the vendor quickly rushed over to check on the motorcyclist, who lay motionless on the road. At the time of writing, the condition of both individuals remains unconfirmed.

Fadzly, who shared the video, remarked, “Allahu, this is the kind of risk that comes with this type of business.”
What if you hit someone?
Following the latest incident, netizens were quick to express their concern in the comment sections.
Many highlighted how dangerous and irresponsible it is to conduct any form of trading at traffic light junctions or on busy roads.
One user wrote, ‘As someone who passes through this area often, I swear it’s terrifying when people are selling like this. What if you hit someone? Sometimes there are lorries and cars speeding by. It’s scary.’
Others raised a different concern: cleanliness. Several users claimed that the pickled mangoes are sometimes stored in unsanitary places before being sold.
‘What I don’t get is, why are people buying this? Do you even know where they store the stock? In drains, okay? How are y’all still eating that?’ one asked.
