Microsleep, distractions, and reckless lane changes are among the top causes of highway accidents in Malaysia.
A recent viral dashcam video is now highlighting just how quickly things can go wrong, even when one driver is doing everything right.
He was just driving normally. Then this happened
The footage, uploaded by user @mhmmdhsm on X, starts off calmly. A Toyota Vios is seen cruising steadily in the left lane of a highway. Everything seems normal, until it isn’t.

Out of nowhere, a Perodua Bezza in the right lane swerves into the Vios and crashes into its rear side.
The sudden impact causes the Vios to spin out of control and slam into the highway divider. Meanwhile, the Bezza flips multiple times, scattering debris across the road.

“It’s spinning!” Dashcam owner reacts in shock
The incident was caught on a dashcam from a nearby vehicle. The driver behind the camera could be heard reacting in real-time, shouting:
“Allahuakhbar, accident! Allahuakhbar, it’s spinning!”
Later, the dashcam owner posted the video online and wrote:
It’s true what they say. You can drive carefully, but accidents can still happen because of others.”
That line struck a chord with many, especially those who have experienced similar near-misses or crashes through no fault of their own.

Was It microsleep or phone distraction?
As the video gained traction online, netizens began speculating about what led to the crash.
Some believed the Bezza driver may have dozed off behind the wheel.
This is a dangerous condition known as microsleep that occurs when drivers are severely fatigued.
Others were convinced the driver might have been distracted by their phone and only realised too late that they had veered off course.
At the time of writing, no official statement has been released regarding the cause of the accident.
