The father of the female victim in a fatal highway crash has speculated that the car his daughter was in was travelling at an extremely high speed moments before the accident.
Speaking to the Sin Chew Daily, he said the couple’s vehicle took only three to four minutes to travel from the previous toll plaza to the toll plaza where the crash occurred.
This, he explained, indicated how fast the car was being driven at the time.
CCTV showed the car moving very fast
He added that investigating officers later showed him highway CCTV footage recorded before the crash, which also showed the car moving at a very high speed.

Despite trying to remain composed during the interview, the father struggled to hold back his tears when speaking about his daughter.
The incident happened at around 1.05am yesterday near a toll plaza along the North–South Expressway.
Initially against her daughter’s trip
The couple were travelling together when their car lost control and overturned after colliding with a structure near the toll area. Both were unable to exit the vehicle and died at the scene.
The father also shared that he had initially advised his daughter not to go on the trip. However, she insisted on proceeding. Not wanting to upset her, he eventually agreed.
Police investigations into the case are ongoing.
