A photo of a shocking bill from a KTV nightclub in Kuala Lumpur has gone viral, showing a total amount of RM97,760.65 spent in just 30 minutes.
Three bottles of liquor cost over RM78k
A photo circulating online shows a bill issued by a KL nightclub, dated June 27 at 11.28pm.
The billwas paid at 12.03am the next day and has since drawn attention due to its unusually high tax charges.

According to the receipt, the most expensive item was three bottles of Louis XIII cognac, which cost a staggering RM78,888.00.

On top of that, tips for staff and PRMs (Public Relations Members) were added, each costing RM300.

The bill’s amount alone came to a subtotal of RM82,948.00, and when a 10% service charge and an 8% SST charge was added, the final amount ballooned to RM97,760.60.

This means the SST alone cost more than a brand-new motorcycle in Malaysia, leaving netizens speechless.
Social media reacts to luxury splurge
The photo has quickly gained attention online, especially for how much was spent in under an hour.
Some felt that the person who paid the bill had every right to spend the money as they saw fit.

Another wrote that while the Louis XIII Cognac was indeed pricey, the KTV might have set it at a much higher price to rake in more profits.

Many questioned whether the visit was worth nearly RM100,000, while others criticised the high SST rate applied to entertainment services.

However, some casted doubt on the legitimacy of the receipt, with one noting that the bill was issued before the new SST rate came into the picture on Jul 1.
