SEREMBAN – A couple was arrested after a disturbing video made rounds on Facebook showing the husband attempting to poison the entire family.
In the 16-minute video, the man claimed that he was disatisfied with the government’s handling of the pandemic and intended to poison himself and his family as a means to ‘cope with the stress’.
“You want to see how a family feels before they commit suicide?”
He then held out a bottle of liquid and claimed that it was poison.
I would like to give to my son first. To everyone out there, please have a look at this.”
In a bizarre turn of events, the man proceeds to feed his nine-month-old son and wife the alleged poison before gulping it down himself.
Later in the video, the man revealed that it was a ‘role play’ and the liquid wasn’t poison.
Seremban Regional Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd. Said Ibrahim said the couple were arrested after a police report was lodged.
The male suspect was arrested at 10.50 pm last night while his wife was arrested at 3.15 am today.
Also, he advised the public not to take any action that could cause public unrest.
Mohd. Said added that the case is currently being investigated under Section 505(b) of the Penal Code, Section 233 of the Multimedia Communications Act, and Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001.
