KLANG – Two police officers are now facing an inquiry for allegedly asking for a bribe from a driver after a two-part video made its way to Twitter and spread like wildfire on Friday (July 2), drawing widespread condemnation from netizens.
In the video, the police officers were recorded demanding the driver repeatedly to hand over his phone as they wanted to ensure that he wasn’t filming them secretly. They also warned him of the repurcussions that may occur if he didn’t cooperate.

Unbeknownst to them, the entire incident was captured by the driver’s dashcam and later uploaded to Twitter by a user named @khairidzwan, where it garnered more than 350,000 views.

The explosive footage also uncovered an incriminating statement from one of the officers, where he was caught telling the driver to borrow money from his friends to pay the bribe in order to avoid being issued a ticket.
“Just now you said you would give us RM100… go and borrow RM50 from your friends now.”

Netizens were outraged by the video and demanded the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) to investigate the officers.
In a statement issued by Klang Utara district police chief, ACP Nurulhuda Mohd Salleh yesterday (July 3), she said police were alerted of the matter via Twitter and vowed that stern action would be taken against the officers.
“We urge both the uploader of the video and members of the public who have any information related to the case to contact the Klang North District Police to assist investigations.”
@khairidzwan later retweeted the official statement by the police and said that he had reposted the video from TikTok and wasn’t the driver who recorded the incident.
