Collektr To Host Exclusive Charity Art Auction Featuring Local Artists To Light Up Borneo With Hydroelectric

Asia’s leading collectibles platform, Collektr, is proud to announce its partnership with Sabahan ceramic artist Hannah Bhatt, the founder of The Uncanny Valley Studios, for an unprecedented charity art auction titled “The Gift of Light.”

This campaign aims to make a profound impact by lighting up Borneo with hydroelectric power at Kg Sumatalun, Pagalungan, while also celebrating the vibrant artistry of local talent.

Hannah Bhatt, founder and artist of Uncanny Valley Studios, has sculpted a collection of 20 ceramic works, each adorned with illustrations and paintings from various artists.

This collaboration includes contributions from 20 local artists, whose bold and distinct styles enrich the collection.

Collektr is honoured to host the bidding and auction process, providing a regional platform for art enthusiasts to participate in this meaningful cause.

Leveraging Collektr’s innovative live streaming bidding capabilities, enthusiasts from across Asia can engage with the artworks and contribute to lighting up Kg Sumatalun, Pagalungan, located 10 hours away from KK town.

All proceeds from the auction will directly benefit Light Up Borneo’s project, aiming to provide hydroelectric power to 28 houses and 2 public buildings in Kg Sumatalun, Pagalungan.

“We chose to partner with Collektr for ‘The Gift of Light’ exhibition due to their global reach, user-friendly interface, and secure transaction process. Collektr’s reputable platform enhances the visibility and credibility of our initiative, supports our artists, and aligns with our values of leveraging art for positive impact,” Hannah emphasised, “I chose to collaborate with 20 different artists from diverse backgrounds in Malaysia to highlight the richness and variety of Malaysian art, bringing unique perspectives and creativity to each ceramic sculpture. This initiative is a way to give back to my roots and help bring electricity to my community. Through this initiative, I aim to raise awareness, spark a broader movement for positive change, and hold those in power accountable.”

The auction will be live on the 6th of July 2024 and will be hosted exclusively on the Collektr website and App, Asia’s premier livestream bidding platform for collectibles.

Additionally, for enthusiasts eager to appreciate the artwork in person, a viewing of the collection will be available at Awegallery, Petaling Jaya, from the 6th to the 15th of July 2024.
