‘Is It A Bear?’ — Chonky Panther At Zoo Negara Leaves Netizens Amused & Concerned Over Its Size

Black Panther after retiring from Hollywood.
Panthers are known for their speed, strength, and ferociousness when living among its kind in the wild.

But for one panther in Zoo Negara, it was anything but those characteristics mentioned above, no thanks to its abnormally large size.

But what struck as odd everyone was its size, which was two times bigger than what most panthers look like in the wild — a far cry from its reputation as an apex predator.

Size no laughing matter?

The clip, which has garnered 2.2 million views since it was posted last Friday, saw netizens expressing amusement over the panther’s size.

‘I honestly thought it was another animal’

Speaking to WeirdKaya, the OP named Alkaff said the panther’s enclosure was located right after the ‘Reptile’ section and decided to take a closer look at it after looking at its info board.

At first, I thought I was seeing an entirely different animal, but when my wife pointed out that it was actually a black panther, I quickly whipped out my phone to record it in hopes of capturing its cuteness while fumbling.

“I also wondered whether it was tame enough to be hugged and petted, but I figured it wasn’t worth it if I’m going to become its dinner,” he joked.

As for Zoo Negara’s response to the clip, Alkaff said he was relieved to hear that the panther was receiving the best form of care and praised the zoo for looking after the animals.
