Malaysia and China will begin a mutual visa-free travel arrangement starting July 17, 2025. This new agreement will allow tourists from both countries to visit without needing a visa under certain conditions.
Can stay up to 30 days per entry
Under the policy, Chinese citizens holding official or ordinary passports can enter Malaysia for purposes such as tourism, business, or visiting family.
The same applies to Malaysians visiting China.

Must not exceed 90 days within a 180-day period
However, there’s a condition attached.
According to People’s Daily, visitors can stay for up to 30 days per entry, and the total stay must not exceed 90 days within a 180-day period.
The policy is seen as a step forward in strengthening ties and boosting tourism between the two countries.
Travel data from Qunar.com showed a growing interest among Chinese tourists in visiting Malaysia. Hotel bookings in Malaysia have risen by 43% compared to last year.
Top Malaysian destinations for Chinese visitors include Kuala Lumpur, Tawau, and Langkawi.
Kuala Lumpur is also the most popular city for outbound international air travel on the platform.
Officials expect this move to increase travel and business opportunities for both sides.
