Hit by object released from slingshot
According to Berita Harian, the incident took place at Jalan Kota Kinabalu Lama 2 near a bank on Monday (Dec 8).
Kota Kinabalu district police chief Assistant Commissioner Kasim Muda said in a statement that police received a report from the 31-year-old tourist at 7pm.

He said investigations found that the victim was walking with her husband when she was suddenly struck by an object believed to have been launched from a slingshot straight from a moving vehicle.
“As a result of the incident, she sustained bruises on her body before lodging a police report.
“The case is now being investigated under Section 337 of the Penal Code for causing hurt by a rash or negligent act that endangers life or safety,” he said.
Under this Section, offenders face imprisonment of up to 6 months, a fine up to RM1,000, or both upon conviction.

Kasim added police are calling upon the public who were at the location during the time of the incident to come forward and assist with the investigation.
He also urged any vehicle owners who have dashcam recordings and travelled along Jalan Kota Kinabalu Lama 2 or Jalan Pantai between 6.45pm and 7.15pm to provide the footage to police.
