A man in China is now left fearing for his fertility after he got kicked in the groin area by a horse during a visit to a ranch in the Changbai Mountain area of China’s Jilin province.
According to Sina News, the incident took place on July 19 when the man surnamed Sheng was about to ride the horse.
China man kicked in the balls by horse
Having bought insurance for the excursion, Sheng was guided to a horse by the ranch owner’s wife.

Just as he was about to get onto the horse, a staff shouted, “Don’t stand behind the horse!”
That proved to be a huge mistake as the shout startled the animal, causing it to kick Sheng in his left groin with its hind legs and send him flying two metres into the air.
Sheng was then taken to the Fusong People’s Hospital, where he was diagnosed with soft tissue contusions and testicular tenderness. A police report was subsequently made the next day.
More bad news came when Sheng went to Third Affiliated Hospital of Changchun University of Chinese Medicine for treatment on July 21, where medical reports showed he had a broken tailbone, contusions to his left hip, base of his spinal area, and right elbow, as well as ongoing testicular pain.

He was advised to rest in bed for two weeks, have regular follow-up checks, and undergo possible surgery based on his condition.
On social media, Sheng expressed fears that the injury might jeopardise his fertility, saying: “I may not be able to become a father anymore”.
Admitted he shouldn’t stand behind horse
On July 30, Sheng was given additional compensation by the ranch and signed a letter of understanding with them as well following intervention from the local culture and tourism department.
He told reporters he had spent between 6,000 and 7,000 yuan (RM3,500 to RM4,100) on medical fees and confirmed he had received the payout had been received, adding he was satisfied with the resolution.

In response to online criticism about him lacking common sense by standing behind the horse, Sheng acknowledged his mistake and explained he had never ridden a horse before.
He also called upon the authorities to increase checks at popular tourist sites during the summer holidays so that such accidents do not occur again.
Ranch suspended for 3 days
On the ranch’s part, it was ordered to suspend operations for three days.

Li, the person in charge of the ranch, told the media that compensation was given to Sheng out of “humanitarian concern”.
He also added there were multiple warning signs being put up and that the ranch was back in business on July 31 after making safety improvements.
