A frightening incident involving a young child running into a busy main road has gone viral on social media, after a dashcam video captured the moment a family narrowly avoided tragedy during peak traffic hours.
In the video circulating on Facebook, a young boy wearing a yellow shirt was initially seen standing by the roadside near his family and their vehicle.
Within seconds, he suddenly dashed into the middle of the road and began running across active lanes of traffic.
Dad runs after son & stops traffic
The boy’s father immediately chased after him, raising both hands and waving urgently to signal approaching drivers to slow down and avoid the child.

Meanwhile, the boy’s mother appeared to be overwhelmed by shock and panic. She was seen falling onto the side of the road with another young girl standing beside her.
The dashcam footage was later uploaded to Facebook, revealing that the incident took place at around 6.18am the previous morning along a road in Johor Bahru heading towards Tampoi.
Driver managed to brake in time
The OP shared that she had been driving toward a school when she noticed vehicles ahead moving unusually slowly.

At first, she wondered why the cars were “moving like turtles”, only to be stunned when she saw the child suddenly sprint towards traffic.
She added the boy running between lanes caused immediate alarm among drivers, many of whom honked their horns to warn others and avoid a collision.
Thankfully, the driver behind her managed to brake in time, preventing any injuries or fatalities.
The OP also speculated that the boy may have been having an emotional outburst, possibly due to not wanting to go to school.
Parents panned for not watching son
Many netizens described the boy as extremely lucky to have escaped unharmed, while others criticised the parents for failing to keep a close watch over their child in a dangerous environment.
Some also expressed concern that children today may lack awareness of road dangers, warning that a moment of parental negligence could lead to irreversible consequences.
