Parenting is never an easy task and sometimes it can wear one out, especially when the children simply do not listen to instructions or start throwing a fit.
A mother in Guangdong, China, was so frustrated by her son’s disobedience that she left him lying on the road out of anger, a decision she would come to regret later.
Child left lying on road after showing temper
In a 25-second video which has gone viral on Douyin, it showed a woman trying to bring her young son to walk across the road with her.
However, the latter refused to cooperate and began throwing a temper by making his body go limp and making his mother tug at him forcefully to get him to stand again.
After seeing that her efforts to make her son walk were unsuccessful, the woman lets go of him and leaves him lying in the middle of road before walking to the side of the road in frustration and angrily gesturing at him.
As the boy continued to lie on the road, a black car is seen making a turn and heading towards him.
Based on the CCTV footage, it showed the car’s left front wheel narrowly missing the boy but the same couldn’t been said for its left rear wheel, where it was seen running over the boy’s head.
It’s not known whether the driver had noticed the boy lying on the road or not.
After getting his head run over by the car wheel, the boy clutches his head in pain and rolls to the side as his mother frantically runs towards him to check on him.
According to local media, the boy was reportedly hospitalised for observation following the incident.
Netizens outraged by mother’s actions
The clip has since garnered thousands of views as well tons of angry comments from netizens who were appalled by how the mother ‘disciplined’ her son for throwing a tantrum.
‘She clearly saw the car coming (towards her son). What on earth was she doing?!’
‘While I can understand her ditching her son behind, I don’t understand her leaving him at the middle of the road.’
‘This is clearly the mum’s fault, not her son’s. Even if he were to throw a tantrum, she cannot ditch him like that, regardless of whether it’s at a road, at home, or on a grassy field. Seeing this clip makes me so angry.’
