Female residents living in the Kepong area have been urged to be on high alert and be mindful of their belongings, especially their underwear.
This comes after a man was caught stealing female underwear that was being hung out to dry from two separate neighbourhoods in full view of the CCTV.
Theft captured in 4k
As reported by China Press, CCTV footage captured the man scaling the gate of one of his “targeted” houses before helping himself to an array of underwear hung out to dry on a clothes rack.

Speaking to the Chinese daily about the incident, assistant to Kepong MP Lim Lip Eng, Dic Lai said residents from Taman Kepong and Taman Daya had reported of underwear being stolen, where it took place on Sept 28 and Oct 3 respectively.
“The man was seen cycling around terrace houses late at night before climbing over gates to enter the premises.
“He would then stand leisurely in front of the clothes rack and choose his items as though he was out shopping before climbing over the gate to get out.

“The man wore a yellow shirt in both incidents and his face was clearly captured by CCTV. Some residents have also recognised him as someone who often loiters around the Jinjang Utara area,” he said.
Believed to be behind similar incidents
Lai added similar underwear thefts had occurred in Taman Kepong about six months ago, but it cannot be determined whether the man was behind it as well.
He also expressed concern over the fact that female underwear being hung within private compounds have become a target for perverts.

Two victims have reportedly lodged police reports and Lai is calling upon those who experienced similar thefts to do the same so that police can collect more evidence and strengthen patrols in the area.
If you happen to live in these areas, please be on the lookout and stay alert!
