A routine stop at a petrol station turned into an unexpected rescue mission after a woman’s pet cat accidentally locked itself inside her car.
In a video shared on TikTok, the incident happened at a Petronas station in Bandar Kinrara, Puchong, Selangor.
Bring her cat along for a ride
The owner Laly had brought along her orange-and-white cat, Tabby, for a short outing before the mishap occurred.
According to Laly, she had stopped by the station to deliver clothes to a friend who works there. Since she was already out, she decided to bring Tabby along for a ride.
I left Tabby inside the car for a moment because I wanted to record a video of my car with my friend,” she explained.
Suddenly, while standing near the door, I heard the ‘lock’ sound. It turned out Tabby had stepped on the lock button, and the keys were inside the car.”
Call Bomba for help
With no spare key available and Tabby still inside the locked vehicle, Laly had no choice but to call the Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) for assistance.
Footage from the video shows firefighters working carefully with tools to unlock the car door, while Tabby remained inside the vehicle — calm and unbothered by the commotion outside.
Fortunately, the door was successfully opened, and Tabby was safely reunited with its owner.
The video has since amused netizens, many joking that cats truly live up to their reputation as mischievous “bosses” of the household.
