Canadian Man Says KLIA Is “One Of Asia’s Worst Airports” After Eating A Burger

That’s a long flight for something you could’ve had at home.
A Canadian national has sparked backlash online after calling Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) “one of Asia’s worst” based on his experience eating a burger there.

In a video posted online, he was seen making a displeased face while seated at the fast food outlet. The overlaid text on the clip read:

His remark quickly caught the attention of Malaysians, who didn’t take too kindly to the comparison.

Many netizens questioned how an American fast food chain could be used to rate the quality of an international airport.

Some pointed out the irony of flying across continents only to eat a franchise from his home region.

Debate shifts from food to mindset

Others felt his comment implied something deeper, questioning whether the criticism stemmed from unrealistic expectations.

There were also harsher responses, with some accusing him of judging Malaysia unfairly.

However, a few netizens chose to defend KLIA using facts rather than emotion.

One pointed out that KLIA is considered one of the most connected airports in the world, ranking second globally by connection ratio in the 2024 OAG Megahub Index, behind only London Heathrow.

They added that airport infrastructure and global connectivity have little to do with fast food quality.
