A foreign man tried to weasel his way out of trouble after he was intercepted by Road Transport Department (JPJ) officers in Kedah today.
Unfortunately, his trick didn’t work and the luxury car that he was driving was ultimately seized.
‘I’m M’sian!’
According to a Facebook post by JPJ Kedah, it wrote that officers stopped a Mercedes-Benz E200 that was driving “in a suspicious manner” while carrying out ‘Ops Luxury’.

When they asked the driver to produce his identification documents and driving licence, he was unable to do so.
Instead of fessing up, the driver decided to double down and tried to fool officers into believing he was a Malaysian.
However, it backfired and the driver was eventually forced to admit that he didn’t have a driver’s licence and was actually a Cambodian national.
Mercedes-Benz seized
Further inspection of the car later revealed that the driver had been in possession of a road tax and insurance coverage which expired on April 2, 2025.

A summons was issued to the driver while the luxury car was hauled off to the Kedah State JPJ Impound Depot for further investigation.
The department also warned that it will not compromise when it comes to traffic violations.
