After acquiring Tesco back in February, Lotus’s Malaysia has been working closely to enter the Malaysian market officially.
Today, Lotus’s Stores (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd launched its first offline store in Kepong, reported The Rakyat Post.
What will happen to current Tesco stores and your Clubcard points?
According to Tesco Malaysia, all offline stores will be rebranded as Lotus’s Store in the next few months. However, you are still able to access Tesco’s products via their official e-store website.
Regarding the Clubcard points, Tesco said that the points and the membership programme will remain and will keep members informed if there are any changes in the future.
If you happen to have a Clubcard or Tesco vouchers, e-vouchers, gift vouchers, or coupons, you can still redeem it following the validity period stated on it.
However, if you wish to purchase Tesco-branded products, you will need to act fast as Tesco is undergoing a full-scale review and rebranding, meaning that it will be around for a limited time only.
A brand new shopping experience
Thailand’s all favorite food brand – CP Group, which is the mother company of Lotus’s, can be found in all Lotus’s stores, which means we will see more of its ready-to-eat meals.
As of December 2019, Lotus’s Thailand has 1,967 stores under the Tesco Lotus’s brand, 1,600 Tesco Lotus Express stores, and 400 more in hypermarket, talad, and department store form.
In an interview with The Rakyat Post, Lotus’s Malaysia President Kenneth Chuah said that the fashion brand Naelofar will be featured for the first time and added that Lotus’s would introduce more products as the Raya celebrations draw closer.
