A tour bus carrying 25 passengers crashed while coming down from Genting Highlands on the morning of June 22, 2025.
According to a police statement, the bus was traveling from Genting Highlands towards Serdang when it skidded at KM12 of the downhill stretch and crashed into a road divider wall.
Bentong district police chief Supt. Zaiham Mohd Kahar said preliminary investigations found that the driver lost control of the vehicle while navigating a corner.
As a result of the accident, the 54-year-old Malaysian bus driver sustained minor injuries.
Two passengers, a 74-year-old local woman and a foreign national were also injured. All three were taken to Bentong Hospital for treatment.
Fortunately, no other vehicles were involved in the incident.
Supt. Zaiham reminded all road users to drive carefully, especially when handling large vehicles or navigating winding roads like those in Genting Highlands.
