A terrifying dashcam footage showing a bus slamming right into a tree near Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) has recently surfaced online, shocking many.
Following the crash, police have since arrested the driver and are now investigating the matter.
Bus crashes into tree near UPM, 3 injured
In the 41-second dashcam footage, it showed the bus travelling along the left lane before veering off with no signs of slowing down.

Eventually, the bus was forcefully brought to a stop by a tree, which the bus was seen barreling its way right into it.

Out of the five teachers and 30 children that were onboard, a teacher and three kindergarten students were hurt by the accident.
Fatigue, lack of sleep reason for crash
Serdang police chief Farid Ahmad later issued a statement regarding the incident, which revealed several troubling facts, reported FMT.
According to Farid, he said preliminary investigations found that the lack of sleep and fatigue were the causes for the crash, adding the driver most likely fell asleep while at the wheel.
He added the driver was found to have 13 previous traffic summonses but tested negative for drugs and alcohol. He was remanded for two days to assist investigations.

As for the victims, they received outpatient treatment at Sultan Idris Shah Hospital in Serdang.
Meanwhile, Road Transport Department (JPJ) director-general Aedy Fadly Ramli promised that a safety audit will be conducted on the bus operator.
