In the wake of several recent bus-related accidents across Malaysia, yet another incident has emerged.
A late-night bus journey from Kajang to Melaka took a sudden turn when an express bus crashed into a height restriction barrier along Jalan Arab Malaysian in Nilai, leaving seven people injured.
The incident happened around 10.30pm yesterday (July 4), and involved four men and three women, all believed to be in their 30s to 50s, including the driver.
Onlookers posted some videos and images of the incident on social media.
According to China Press, Senior Fire Officer, Azmi Hamid from the Nilai Fire and Rescue Station said the bus was carrying 19 passengers at the time of the accident.
“All the injured were taken to Serdang Hospital and received treatment in the green zone,” he said, adding that their injuries were minor.
A total of nine firefighters were involved in the rescue operation.
The cause of the bus hitting the height barrier is under investigation.
