The government will allocate RM13 billion under the Tunai Rahmah (STR) and Asas Rahmah (SARA) initiatives in 2025.
This amount will be distributed to 9 million recipients, benefiting 60% of the adult population and providing essential support to low-income households.

- Expanded SARA Coverage
The Asas Rahmah (SARA) program will be expanded to 4.1 million beneficiaries. As part of the initiative, households receiving STR benefits will receive RM100 monthly, which will be credited directly to recipients’ MyKAD accounts starting in April 2025. This initiative aims to make it easier for families to purchase essential items and manage daily expenses.
- Increased Payment Allocation
Budget 2025 introduces an additional RM3 billion in funding, allowing for a significant increase in household payments. The maximum household payment will now rise from RM3,700 to RM4,600, providing more financial support to help families navigate rising costs.
