The body of a 31-year-old man, Daniel Lee Boon Han, who was reported missing by family members two days ago was found inside a suitcase that was dumped behind the Ampang Jaya Flats in Butterworth, Penang.
According to China Press, the victim’s identity was confirmed by his father, who went to the Seberang Jaya Hospital this morning to identify the body.

The Chinese daily also reported that the suitcase containing the Daniel’s body was found by a drain cleaner, who immediately alerted the police.
Upon closer investigations, a deep slash wound on the his neck while both of his hands were tied and a plastic bag was placed over his head.
Preliminary forensic investigations found that based on the condition and injuries of the body, Daniel was believed to have been killed not too long ago.
Police are investigating whether he was killed elsewhere before being placed in the suitcase and dumped at the location.
The case is also being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
Was missing since Tuesday
Earlier, it was reported that Daniel was last heard from around 1am on Tuesday (Oct 7), where he reportedly texted his mother saying he was heading to Perlis for work matters and might return late or the following day.
However, the family didn’t believe that he was the one who sent the text as he had been uncontactable since noon that day.
Daniel’s phone was also switched off and he did not respond to any messages in family or work group chats.
His colleagues told China Press that Daniel was supposed to attend a meeting that evening with a new coworker, but he never turned up.
At the time of his disappearance, Daniel was seen donning a grey shirt and black pants, and driving a Toyota Vios bearing the registration number PPP 3135.
