A fight over who should take possession of a begging spot in Shah Alam turned deadly after a beggar stabbed another beggar with a knife yesterday (Apr 24).
Clips of the aftermath were also shared widely online, where the victim’s blood were seen smeared all across the floor.

In two clips shared on X (formerly Twitter) by MYNEWSHUB, it showed a pair of crutches lying along the walkway outside a bank, while small patches of blood were spotted near it.
It also showed a group of bystanders trying to calm a man down while another man lies lifeless less than a feet away from him.

It was later revealed that the incident was sparked by a dispute between two beggars over a begging spot at Seksyen 18.
In a statement by Shah Alam district police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim, he said preliminary investigations revealed the 40-year-old victim, got into an argument with the suspect, who allegedly tried to take the begging spot by force.
The suspect then took out a knife and stabbed the victim in the chest multiple times until he lost consciousness.

The suspect was later arrested at 12.30pm following a public tip-off and was found to have nine prior criminal records. However, he tested negative for drugs.
Mohd Iqbal added the suspect was brought to the Shah Alam court today (Apr 25) for a remand application and the case is being probed under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
