A Malaysian dad wanted to treat his kids to a delicious Roti John from a Ramadan bazaar, but when he opened it at home—zero meat inside.
“Sell Roti John but got no meat?”
In a now-viral TikTok video by @xhmyrwh, the frustrated father shared how he had eagerly bought the sandwich, expecting a meaty filling. Instead, he was met with just veggies, a bit of egg, and mayo.
“Please lah, be honest when selling food,” the text overlay read.
The dad was so disheartened that he hesitated to break the news to his kids.
Netizens share similar bazaar woes
The video resonated with many netizens, who flooded the comments with their own food stall horror stories.
“Don’t do things like this—we never know if someone spent their last bit of money to buy it, etc. There’s no blessing in money earned dishonestly.”

“Roti John is one of the foods you should avoid buying at bazaars. It’s very rare to find a good one. Mostly, it’s just veggies or an empty filling. 🤣”

“I once got undercooked chicken, everything was either rotten or spoiled.”
