A recent post from a British tourist criticizing the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Transit has sparked a debate among Malaysians.
The tourist’s complaints centered around the train’s basic seating and poor WiFi quality, igniting discussions on whether these criticisms were justified or if expectations were too high for public transportation services.
The British video creator Dale Philip shared his thoughts onboard the KLIA Transit after using it during his visit to Malaysia.
‘Not as good as Jakarta’
The tourist expressed disappointment in the quality of the train’s seating, describing it as “basic” and “not leather-like”, unlike the ones he had in Jakarta during a journey between the airport and city centre.
It’s just very basic seats. It’s not like the nice, big leather ones we had in Jakarta. The $4 train in Jakarta had nice reclining leather seats.
Furthermore, the tourist lamented the slow and unreliable WiFi service, which offered only a 3 Mbps speed after he conducted a speed test on it.

The video has since gained 6.7K reactions and over 200 shares at the time of writing, where netizens offered their thoughts on it.
While some seemed to acknowledge Dale’s criticism on the KLIA Transit, they opined that it was still the best way to get to KLIA unless one wanted to get stuck in a traffic jam.
On the other hand, some were unhappy with the comparison between the KLIA Transit and Jakarta’s train system as the former was built much earlier.
