Taiwanese actress Barbie Hsu, known for Meteor Garden, passed away at 48 due to complications from influenza while traveling in Japan.

Several reports claim that delays in medical care may have contributed to her death.

A person, believed to be the tour guide, claimed that the late actress began experiencing coughing and asthma symptoms on Jan. 29.

  • Jan 29: Hsu arrived in Hakone, Japan, and developed coughing and asthma symptoms.
  • Jan 30-31: She rested in her hotel.
  • Jan 31: She called an ambulance and went to a local hospital, but doctors failed to diagnose her illness. She was sent back to her hotel.
  • Feb 1: She went to a small hospital in Tokyo, but again, no clear diagnosis was made. She was referred to a larger hospital, where doctors diagnosed influenza, gave her medication, but did not admit her.
  • Feb 2 (early morning): Her condition worsened, leading to another emergency call.
  • 7am, Feb 2: She was pronounced dead.

According to leaked medical records, Hsu’s oxygen levels dropped to 89%, and scans showed severe lung congestion.
