A bizarre and alarming incident occurred in Bangkok late at night when a bus was seen mysteriously suspended in the air, with its front wheels hanging three meters above the ground.
The spectacle left passersby stunned, and the footage quickly went viral on social media. Police later confirmed that the incident was caused by oil residue on the road.
Front wheels lifted off ground
The incident took place on the night on Feb 10 at around 11pm The viral footage showed a single-decker bus traveling along its usual route when it suddenly tilted mid-turn.
The front wheels lifted off the ground and remained suspended at a 45-degree angle.
The unexpected sight baffled onlookers, though fortunately, traffic was light at the time, preventing potential collisions.

No injuries among passengers
The bus was carrying five people: the 34-year-old female driver, a ticket conductor, and three passengers. Thankfully, no one was injured during the incident.
The driver later recounted the terrifying experience, explaining that the bus had suddenly skidded.
In an attempt to control the vehicle, she steered toward the left side of the road. Unbeknownst to her, the side mirror became entangled in roadside electrical wires, causing the bus to be pulled upward into the unusual position.

Police investigation points to oil residue
Following the investigation, police suspected that the bus had driven over an unknown oily substance mixed with water, resulting in the slippery conditions and subsequent loss of control.
This chain of events ultimately led to the bus’s suspension.
Emergency crews from the Bangkok Metropolitan Electricity Authority were called to the scene.
A large crane was deployed to carefully lower the bus back to the ground. Upon inspection, the electrical pole and wires were found to be miraculously undamaged.
