Two masked burglars armed with a machete broke into a home in Muar’s Taman Seri Durei, sparking a violent confrontation that left two individuals injured.
According to China Press, the incident occurred on 17 December, around 5:14 PM while the homeowner was away.
The burglars stopped the car in the front yard
CCTV footage captured the burglars arriving in a car and attempting to force open the front gate.
When their efforts failed, they climbed over the gate and quickly entered the house through a side door.
Inside, the burglars retrieved the house keys and used them to unlock the front gate, allowing them to reverse their car into the driveway to load stolen goods.
Owner’s friend arrived
Their actions were interrupted when two male relatives of the homeowner, alerted to the burglary, arrived at the scene in separate vehicles—a car and a motorcycle—to intervene.
The situation turned violent as one of the burglars, armed with a machete, charged out of the driveway and attacked one of the homeowner’s relatives, injuring his back and hand.
Both relatives sustained injuries during the confrontation, but the burglars managed to flee the scene in their vehicle. In their haste, they abandoned the machete used in the attack.
One of the injured relatives was later taken to a private specialist hospital, where he remains under observation.
Muar police have confirmed the incident and stated that investigations are ongoing. No further details have been disclosed at this time. Authorities urge anyone with information about the case to come forward.
