When it comes to air travel, being on time is everything.
Recently, AirAsia and Malaysia Airlines proved they’re still flying high, ranking 5th and 6th respectively among Southeast Asia’s most punctual airlines.
In a recent Instagram post by Seasia Stats, Garuda Indonesia was spotlighted for achieving the highest on-time performance among Southeast Asian airlines.
Citing the latest report by OAG, the airline recorded an outstanding 98.39% on-time performance, making it not only the most punctual airline in the region but also the top-ranked airline in the world for May 2025.
Philippine Airlines & Citilink stay competitive
Trailing behind Garuda was Philippine Airlines, which secured the second spot in the region with an 86.67% on-time performance, placing it 18th globally.
Indonesia’s Citilink followed closely with an 83.96% on-time performance, earning the 31st position worldwide.
AirAsia & Malaysia Airlines hold their ground
Malaysia’s low-cost favourite AirAsia recorded a 79.19% on-time performance, placing it 56th globally, while Malaysia Airlines achieved a 76.54% on-time performance, ranking 73rd worldwide.
Their presence on the list signals that despite fierce competition, Malaysian carriers continue to maintain reliable schedules, especially important for travellers who value efficiency and punctuality.
