A traffic policeman in Sandakan has won the internet’s heart after he bravely saved a tiny kitten from almost being run over by a car, and it was all caught in a viral video.
Stopping traffic for a life
The clip, shared by the Sandakan District Police Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Division on Facebook, showed the officer risking his life to stop a car in the middle of the road.
Why? To rescue a terrified kitten that had wandered onto the busy street before hiding under the vehicle.
In the post, the department described the rescue as a “Humanitarian Mission”, writing:
Rescuing a kitten that almost became a victim of an accident, kudos and congratulations to the officer for providing help.”
Rescue mission successful
As the video continued, the officer was seen crouching down and carefully pulling the kitten out from under the car before carrying it to safety.
Thankfully, the daring rescue ended well, and the kitten was unharmed and brought to a safer spot away from traffic.
The heroic act quickly went viral with 93k reactions in the original post as of writing, with many netizens applauding the officer’s bravery and kind heart.
One user pointed out that it was actually a dangerous situation.
