‘A Painful Lesson For Us’, Says Nga Kor Ming After DAP Loses Key Seats To MCA In Negeri Sembilan Election

He said the party will evaluate its shortcomings and continue serving M'sians.
DAP deputy chairman Datuk Seri Nga Kor Ming has admitted that the party will need to sit down and do some soul-searching following its drubbing at the recent Negeri Sembilan state election.

In a statement, Nga thanked Malaysians for fulfilling their duty as a citizen and said DAP will “respect the democratic process and humbly accept the decision made by the people” despite the results not being what it expected.

The defeats in the Chennah and Repah state constituencies were extremely difficult and painful experiences for us. However, Pakatan Harapan (PH) will not give up.”

Nga, who is also Housing and Local Government Minister, said DAP will reflect on its shortcomings and conduct a thorough evaluation to identify the path toward achieving victory in Negeri Sembilan in the future.

“We will remain steadfast in our struggle, face every challenge together, and move forward with determination as one united team,” he added.

DAP suffered a shocking defeat in the form of its secretary-general and Transport Minister Anthony Loke losing Chennah, a seat he held since 2013, to MCA’s Siow Kong Choon by 688 votes.

Following the shock defeat, Loke said he’s considering to relinquish his post as Negri Sembilan DAP state chief to take responsibility for the loss, reported The Star.

As for Repah, it was also wrested by MCA, with Koh Kim Swee defeating incumbent Veerapan Superamaniam by 444 votes.
