This unconditional bond was evident in a viral TikTok video showing a Hindu family visiting the Muslim grave of their son, Arjuna, whose passing has deeply shaken those who loved him.
A heartbreaking visit filled with love & respect
In the viral clip posted by @harieight, the family is seen walking toward Arjuna’s resting place at a Muslim cemetery. Though they practise Hinduism, their devotion to their late son could be felt in every step and every gesture.
What truly broke Malaysians’ hearts was the moment Arjuna’s mother bent down, kissed his grave, and wept quietly; a raw display of grief and love that transcended any religious boundary.
The family honoured him by scattering flowers and pandan leaves over the grave, following common Muslim burial customs. They also placed a malai (flower garland), a Hindu symbol of respect and affection, blending both faiths in a tender tribute to Arjuna.
Throughout the visit, the family cleaned the grave, watered the soil, and Arjuna’s mother gently poured water over the headstone. Her hands shook, but her love remained steady.
Netizens moved by ‘Amma’s’ endless love
In the comments section, many viewers said they felt emotional watching Arjuna’s mother lovingly referred to as Amma break down at her son’s grave.
