Family heartbroken over long wait
His brother-in-law, P. Prataban, 37, said the family was devastated that the years of hoping for a different outcome ended in heartbreak.
Datchinamurthy was the only son among four siblings. We missed him so much and wished we had more time with him,” he told.
Reported by Kosmo!, family said they had not seen much of him during his imprisonment and felt the separation deeply
“It is a big loss to all of us. I miss him a lot. I truly wanted to spend more time with him. My tears are all dried up,” Prataban told NST.
Friend claims he did not receive proper representation
A friend of Datchinamurthy, who wanted to be known only as Siva, 44, claimed that he did not receive proper legal representation before Singapore handed down the death sentence.
In 2015, Datchinamurthy was found guilty of trafficking 44.96 grams of heroin into Singapore.
The death sentence was then imposed, bringing the family’s long wait for justice to a painful end.
