A bright yellow sign reading “AWAS KUCING MELINTAS” (Beware: Cats Crossing) recently caught the attention of Malaysian drivers and netizens alike after it was spotted in Kg Padang Tembak, Kulim.
The sign, which features a silhouette of a cat, was put up by a local resident to remind motorists to slow down and watch out for wandering felines in the area.
While it may look like a quirky addition to the roadside, the person behind it had a very real reason for the sign.
The video has since gone viral, prompting netizens to praise the initiative and some even want one for themselves.

“Where can I buy this signboard?” one person asked.

“This is great. It creates awareness, especially for those who think they’re driving in an F1 race,” joked another.

Another user mentioned the painful reality of high-speed drivers in rural areas:
“I really want to put one up too, because several of my cats have been hit. It’s just a village road, but people drive so fast.”
