Malaysia’s largest convenience store chain, 99 Speedmart Retail Holdings Bhd (99 Holdings), has announced that all its outlets nationwide will adjust their operating hours to open at 9am daily, effective July 1, 2024.
According to New Straits Times, the decision was approved during the company’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) today, as part of efforts to enhance customer convenience and adapt to evolving consumer shopping habits.
“It will allows us to better serve our customers.”
Founder and Chief Executive Officer Lee Thiam Wah stated that the move reflects the company’s commitment to improving customer experience and strengthening its position as the leading mini-market retailer in Malaysia.
Standardizing our operating hours allows us to better serve our customers while maintaining our competitive edge in the retail sector,” Lee said in a statement.
The new policy will apply to all 99 Speedmart outlets across the country, ensuring consistent accessibility for shoppers.
The chain, known for its affordable daily essentials and neighborhood presence, has grown into one of Malaysia’s most recognizable retail brands.
