Driven by jealousy, a group of students in Terengganu brutally assaulted a Form 2 student after he was found to be in possession of a photograph of an ex-girlfriend.
As a result, all of them were arrested for the attack and are currently being investigated by the police.
Beaten over photograph of ex-girlfriend
According to a report by Sinar Harian, the assault had taken place on two separate occasions on May 27 and 28.
Kemaman district police chief Superintendent Mohd Razi Rosli said police were made aware of the case when the 14-year-old victim lodged a police report, leading to a total of nine suspects being nabbed at 1.30pm on Sunday (June 15).

“Preliminary investigations found that the incident stemmed from one suspect’s dissatisfaction with the victim for keeping photos of one of the suspect’s ex-girlfriend, who is now believed to be dating the victim.
“The victim sustained injuries to several parts of his body, including his head and back as a result of the assault,” he told the Malay daily.
Remanded for 3 days
Following their arrest, the suspects, who were aged 15 and 18, were remanded for three days starting Monday (June 16) after Judge Wan Suhaila Mohd approved the remand request.

They’re now being investigated under Section 147 of the Penal Code for rioting, which carries an imprisonment of up to two years, a fine, or both.Â
