Tragedy struck a family living at an apartment in Cyberjaya after a young boy fell to his death yesterday (Feb 12).
According to Sin Chew Daily, the incident occurred after 6pm and police are probing the case for child negligence.
Fell from 8th floor
In a statement by Sepang district police chief Assistant Commissioner Norhizam Bahaman, he said police received a report at 6.31pm from a woman, who informed that the child had fallen from the eighth floor.
After the fall, the child was rushed to Hospital Cyberjaya for emergency treatment but he eventually passed away.
A post-mortem examination will be conducted today at 12pm to determine the cause of death.
Norhizam added that the boy was staying with his family at the unit that he fell from and police are currently investigating whether his parents or guardian were at home at the time of the incident.
However, no arrests have been made so far and the case is being investigated under Section 31(1) of the Child Act 2001 for child neglect.
