Finding a parking spot can sometimes prove to be a stressful affair, and if one’s unable to keep their emotions in check, it can lead to unwanted consequences as a result.
An elderly man was left severely injured after his spine was fractured while he was engaged in a fierce argument with another person over a parking spot.

Speaking to reporters about the incident, Alor Gajah district police chief Superintendent Ashari Abu Samah said the incident took place on Feb 4 at a supermarket in Masjid Tanah, Melaka.
“On the day of the incident, the 82-year-old victim had an argument with the 65-year-old suspect over a parking spot.

During the argument, the victim was forcefully pushed by the suspect with his hand, causing him to fall backward onto the road and fracturing his spine,” he said as reported by Kosmo.
Ashari added the suspect was eventually arrested by police on Monday (Apr 14) and held in remand for two days to assist in investigations.
The suspect faces a maximum prison sentence of seven years and a fine under Section 325 of the Penal Code for causing grievous hurt if convicted.

Ahsari also called upon the public to always keep their emotions under control, especially when out and about in public places.
“The suspect’s remand has sparked various reactions among the public, who see this incident as proof of the importance of maintaining emotional control.
“The public is advised not to act impulsively even in tense situations, as rash actions can lead to long-term consequences,” he said.
