A 79-year-old man was found lifeless at the living room of his house in Penang after he was locked inside.
However, the cause behind his death and how he got locked in the first place remains unknown.

According to a report by NST, the Fire and Rescue Department were made aware of the incident when police asked for help in opening the door of the man’s home in the Hong Seng Estate at 11.58pm yesterday (July 15).

A total of seven firefighters from the Bagan Jermal fire station were sent to the scene and arrived at the location three minutes later at 12.01am.
In a statement by Penang Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations John Sagun Francis, he said the firefighters were told by police that an elderly man was believed to be locked inside the house.
“Fearing for his safety, police sought the fire department’s help to force entry. Firefighters proceeded to cut the padlock on the door using a bolt cutter and found the victim, known as Lim Ban Seng, in an unconscious state.

“Paramedics later confirmed that he had died at the scene and the operation was brought to a close at 12.49am,” he said.
The case was later handed over to police for further action.
