A Perodua Myvi driven by a 75-year-old woman skidded and crashed into the Sakan Seri Manjung supermarket located along Jalan Medan Sitiawan 1 at 3.15pm yesterday.
Manjung District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Nor Omar Sappi said police were alerted after a viral video of the incident was uploaded to the Facebook group ‘Komuniti Seri Manjung’, reported Harian Metro.
“The car was coming from a pharmacy and heading towards a Caltex petrol station at Samudera.
“When she arrived at a 3-way junction, she lost control of the Myvi, causing it to skid and crash into the supermarket,” he said in a statement.
Myvi’s Driver Lightly Injured
Nor Omar said the woman sustained light injuries and was treated at Hospital Seri Manjung.
The case is being investigated under Rule 10 LN 166/59 for failing to control the vehicle.
The Manjung District Police Headquarters has also called upon witnesses to provide information to aid investigations by contacting the Manjung IPD Operations Room at 05-6886222 or any nearby police station.
