A tragic accident claimed the life of a 74-year-old Malaysian man yesterday (25 September) after his motorcycle collided with an ambulance in Padawan.
The incident, which took place at around 12 noon along Jalan Penrissen, near the 18th mile mark heading towards Serian.

Fatal Collision at U-Turn
According to Sin Chew Daily, Padawan District Police Chief, Superintendent Mohamad Ivhan Hafidz, confirmed that the victim, an elderly man from Sin San Village, was attempting to make a U-turn at an intersection when he inadvertently entered the ambulance’s lane.
Unable to avoid the crash, the ambulance collided with the motorcycle, causing the man and his vehicle to flip over and be dragged to the centre of the road.
Despite the immediate response from the medical personnel inside the ambulance, who swiftly got out to assist the man, he showed no signs of life due to the extent of his injuries.

The elderly man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Following the completion of the police investigation, the deceased’s body was transported to the Serian Hospital mortuary.
A post-mortem examination will be conducted before the family claims the body for burial.
