A fit of jealousy turned into a deadly affair after an elderly carpenter in Sarawak was clobbered to death with a wooden stick by his girlfriends and alleged lover.
Following the incident, the two suspects have since turned themselves in to police and were arrested for further investigations.
Stormed to GF’s house to confront her
According to Kosmo, the incident took place at a house in Kampung Atas, Singai on Saturday (Nov 29) at 11.39pm.
Bau district police chief Superintendent Mohd. Haide A. Rahman said the 73-year-old victim had gone to his 63-year-old girlfriend’s house to accost her for having an affair with another man.
An argument then broke out between them and this led to the victim punching his girlfriend in the face, causing her to run out of the house with him in close pursuit.
“She then found a wooden pepper pole stick near the gate and hit the victim on the arm. At that moment, another suspect, a 63-year-old retired soldier, arrived and tried to break up the fight by kicking the victim.
“He also told the victim’s girlfriend to stop hitting the victim upon seeing the latter collapsing to the ground and blood oozing out from his head,” said Mohd Haide.
Case probed for murder
China Press reported that police were dispatched to the scene after receiving a report, where they found blood stains, a five-feet long wooden stick, and a helmet.
Preliminary investigations also revealed that the victim sustained injuries to his face, hands, head, and legs.
Police believe jealousy may have played a role in the tragedy and nabbed the victim’s girlfriend and the retired soldier after they surrendered themselves.
The case will be probed under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
