7 M’sians Among 34 Suspects Wanted By SG Police Over RM133mil Scam Syndicate In Cambodia

SPF now working with Interpol to issue Red Notices to facilitate their arrest.
The Singapore Police Force (SPF) has released photos of 27 Singaporeans and seven Malaysians wanted for their suspected involvement in a large-scale scam syndicate operating out of Cambodia.

In a statement on 29 October, SPF said the 34 individuals are believed to be overseas, and that it is working with international agencies to track them down.

Network behind RM133mil scam

The group is linked to 15 suspects charged in September for their roles in a government official impersonation scam that targeted Singaporean victims.

A joint operation between SPF and Cambodian police on 9 September uncovered the syndicate’s base, believed to be run from a compound in Phnom Penh. The network is suspected to be behind 438 scam cases, causing losses of at least RM133 million (SGD41 million).

During the raid, Cambodian authorities arrested 12 Singaporeans, two Malaysians, and one Filipino, who were later extradited to Singapore and charged.

Further investigations then identified another 34 individuals connected to the same syndicate — the suspects whose photos and names were released on Tuesday, according to The Straits Times.

Now working with Interpol to issue Red Notices

SPF said it is now working with Interpol to issue Red Notices to facilitate their arrest.

“The SPF will spare no effort to pursue criminals who base their operations locally or overseas and target Singapore. We will work closely with foreign law enforcement agencies to bring them to justice,” the police said.

Members of the public with information on the suspects’ whereabouts are urged to contact the SPF at 1800-255-0000 (or +65 6255 0000 from overseas), or submit information online.
All information shared will be kept strictly confidential.
