Seven earthquakes were recorded in Mae Hong Son and along the Myanmar border this morning (April 21) between midnight and 7am.
According to the Thai Meteorological Department’s Earthquake Observation Division, six earthquakes had epicenters in Myanmar, with one located in Pai district, Mae Hong Son. The strongest quake measured 4.3 magnitude and struck Myanmar at 4.17am.

Details of the recorded earthquakes are as follows:
- 4.49am: 1.7 magnitude in Myanmar, depth 2km, 47km southwest of Mueang district, Mae Hong Son.
- 4.17am: 4.3 magnitude in Myanmar, depth 10km, 159km northwest of Khun Yuam district.
- 2.11am: 3.2 magnitude in Myanmar, depth 10km, 360km northwest of Pang Mapha district.
- 2.07am: 2.7 magnitude in Pai district, Mae Hong Son, depth 5km.
- 2.02am: 2.7 magnitude in Myanmar, depth 6km, 81km northwest of Pang Mapha district.
- 1.20am: 2.3 magnitude in Myanmar, depth 10km, 54km northwest of Pang Mapha district.
- 12.38am: 2.1 magnitude in Myanmar, depth 10km, 67km northwest of Pang Mapha district.

More earthquakes recorded yesterday
The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) reported that yesterday (Apr 20), more than 15 earthquakes were recorded in northern Thailand and Myanmar between 12.34am and 9.46am, prompting increased monitoring by authorities.
Most tremors were centred in Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, and Myanmar. The strongest quake had a magnitude of 3.3, striking at 1.41am (Thai time) with its epicentre located in Myanmar at latitude 21.732°N and longitude 96.118°E.
Thankfully, no injuries or damages were reported so far.
