What started as a simple and kind reminder turned into a tragedy in Kampung Buloh Ipoh, Kelantan.
A 60-year-old man, Shamsuddin Mohamad, lost his life in the most heartbreaking way, all because he had kindly told a teenager to stop riding his motorcycle dangerously around the kampung.
His younger sister, Hasnah Ghazali, whom Kosmo! met at the Forensic Unit of Tanah Merah Hospital, said that her brother was just chatting with a friend at a small shed in front of a sundry shop, like any other day.
But shortly after his friend left, an 18-year-old suddenly showed up with an iron baton.
He asked Shamsuddin to come to the back of the shop. No one knew what was going on until a few minutes later, someone witnessed the unthinkable.
The teenager suddenly struck my brother with an iron baton believed to have been purchased online. The attack was witnessed by a man who happened to be passing by,” she recalled.
With just one powerful blow, Shamsuddin collapsed to the ground, motionless and bleeding. He never woke up again.

I got the call around 5.45 pm. When I arrived, my brother’s face was covered in blood. He wasn’t breathing anymore.” Hasnah said tearfully.
Hasnah believes the attack was motivated by revenge.
The teen was said to have been riding dangerously around the kampung for some time, and Shamsuddin had warned him a few times before.
Tanah Merah District Police Chief, Superintendent Mohd. Haki Hasbullah, confirmed the incident when contacted and said a full report will follow.
According to Hasnah, Shamsuddin’s body will be laid to rest at the Bukit Kelupang Muslim Cemetery in Ipoh later today.
