A 55-year-old Chinese millionaire has gone viral after reportedly marrying a man 30 years younger than her, with the lavish gifts she gave him becoming the main talking point online.
The marriage has since sparked widespread debate across social media, with many netizens weighing in on the couple’s age gap and unconventional dynamic.
Gifts worth RM32mil draw attention
Reported by Harian Metro, Yu Wenhong, a prominent figure in the aesthetic medicine industry, tied the knot with 25-year-old Liu Yuchen, also known as Renren, in March 2026.
While their 30-year age difference raised eyebrows, what truly caught public attention was the scale of assets Wenhong gifted her husband.
The reported bride price amounted to 50 million yuan, which is approximately RM32 million. This included cash, luxury properties, and several branded cars.
The extravagant gesture quickly became a hot topic online, with many expressing shock at the scale of wealth involved.
Built beauty empire from scratch
Wenhong’s rise to success did not come easy.
She was born into a modest family in Dalian, Liaoning province, and faced hardship at a young age after her father passed away. At just 18 years old, she had to support her mother and younger brother.
She first entered the beauty industry as an eyebrow tattoo technician before eventually opening her own salon.
Her breakthrough came in 2004 when she founded Young Merry Real International Group in Hong Kong. Within a year, her business expanded rapidly to more than 150 outlets, establishing her as a major player in the medical aesthetics industry.
A colourful personal life
Despite her business achievements, Wenhong’s personal life has also drawn attention over the years.
She is reported to have gone through five marriages before meeting her current husband.
Prior to this, she was in a decade-long relationship with Albanian model Rolando Lekaj, with whom she shares a child.
Relationship reportedly began in 2025
Her latest relationship began after meeting Renren, who was born in 2001 and had previously worked as a model for her company.
The pair reportedly grew close in the second half of 2025.
Some reports also claimed that their relationship began through interactions on a livestreaming platform, where Wenhong frequently sent him gifts and tips.
Their marriage has since continued to fuel discussions online, with opinions split between admiration for her success and questions about their relationship dynamics.
