A shocking case of an armed robbery in Kajang has left Malaysians deeply alarmed after five men disguised as police officers forced their way into a family’s home under the pretense of searching for drugs.
A Facebook post revealed that the robbers, wearing police vests and carrying pistols, showed up at the house on Sunday under the guise of conducting a drug inspection.
Premeditated act
Once inside, they swiftly cut the internet cables and disabled the CCTV system—clear signs that the act was premeditated and carefully executed.
The intruders then ransacked the home, making off with a significant haul including cash, jewelry, mobile phones, bags, and even the OKU (Persons with Disabilities) card belonging to one of the residents.

No injuries were reported, but the emotional trauma has been deep.
Kajang district police chief ACP Naazron Abdul Yusof confirmed the incident and said one suspect has been arrested so far.
We are currently tracking down the remaining suspects. This was not a spontaneous act. It was a planned operation involving impersonation and armed intimidation,” he said.
The case has sparked national concern over public safety and the audacity of criminals who now go as far as impersonating law enforcement officers.
Netizens have questioned how such acts could occur so easily, and what measures are in place to prevent them, with one writing:
“This is not just a robbery—it’s an attack on public trust. If criminals can pretend to be cops, how can we feel safe anymore?”
Investigation ongoing
Authorities have been urged to take stricter action, including improving training for officers, enhancing systems to detect impostors, and ensuring heavier penalties for those who misuse police identity.
The case is currently being investigated under Section 395 of the Penal Code for gang robbery and Section 170 of the Penal Code for impersonating a police officer.
Police have urged anyone with information about the suspects or the incident to come forward. Members of the public can contact the nearest police station or reach out directly to the investigating officer, Inspector Ghazali Zulkifli, at 016-9140758.
