A devastating road accident early this morning claimed the lives of five family members and left three others injured.
The crash occurred on Jalan Jerantut Feri around 12:39am, when a Toyota Alphard collided with a Perodua Bezza.
According to a statement from the Pahang Fire and Rescue Department, the crash involved eight people: five fatalities and three injured.
The victims were travelling in the Perodua Bezza, while the three injured individuals were in the Toyota Alphard.
Rescue teams arrived at the scene shortly after receiving the distress call at 12:39am.
By 12:42am, they reached the location, where they found the two vehicles severely damaged.
Two of the injured were extricated using specialized rescue tools, while the others had been thrown from the vehicle due to the intense force of the crash.
Emergency services rushed all victims to the hospital, with the injured receiving immediate care.
The victims, who hailed from Kampung Padang Kunchor and Kampung Teluk Bakong in Bota, Perak, were transported to the hospital under the supervision of the local police.
Pahang’s Fire and Rescue Department expressed condolences to the families of the deceased and reminded everyone to stay vigilant when driving, particularly during the night and in areas with high traffic.
The tragic event highlights the importance of road safety during late-night travel.
